We all make cancer cells, but it's no big deal

Cancer. That word strikes fear in just about everyone. It used to scare me, too, but I have learned that I have control over my health. We all have this control! It's about the choices we make in our lives.

I listened to an excellent phone interview with Dr. Thomas Lodi, from An Oasis Of Healing, which is a natural cancer treatment center (www.anoasisofhealing.com). Dr. Lodi gets about a 99% success rate with his program. The information he shared isn't new, but I'd like to share it with you.

When you go to a "traditional" (allopathic) doctor, they may give you drugs, but that will not solve the problem you have! Allopathic medicine doesn't resolve any problems. Emergency medicine can get you through some situations, like broken bones, but there are no allopathic cures. Even the fundamental understanding of health and disease is wrong in allopathic treatment!

For example, allopathic doctors may "treat" cancer with radiation. Radiation may get rid of a tumor temporarily, but the collateral damage is unthinkable. Radiation causes cancer!

Cancer is caused by toxicity. It's that simple. It is absolutely NOT genetic. There are NO cancer genes. The only conditions attributed to genetics (less than 1% of illness) are things like mongolism and albinism. Would nature create a cancer gene? Would evolution create a cancer gene? Of course not. If it were genetic, all our ancestors would have had it.

The environment that you give your genes is what determine what diseases appear. Our bodies are always attempting to obtain homeostasis, in the most adverse conditions.

What's necessary for every person to heal is the same. We all have the same basic needs. Cancer is an anaerobic cell - it has no antioxidant enzymes, it ferments, and its shape is different. This helps to eliminate it.

If you, or someone you know, has been diagnosed with cancer, or any disease for that matter, don't bother with a biopsy. Biopsies and surgeries DO spread cancer. Dr. Lodi's treatment includes;

Ozone therapy, which is widely used outside the US. This starts oxidizing white blood cells, which then start producing anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.
UV light. This treatment removes bacteria and infections in the blood. This was used way before penicillin was discovered.
Medicinal mushrooms (shiitake, reishi). These can double and triple natural killer cells in our bodies, which are the natural assassins of cancer cells. You need capsules and tinctures, as the quantity required is more than you could eat.
Eliminate the immune system's requirement for homeostasis by keeping the colon clean, and not consuming toxins! This allows the immune system to use its energy on defense. Colonics are important. Enemas only clean a very small part of the colon, and miss the cecum. Cleaning the cecum is imperative! We live in a toxic environment, so Dr. Lodi does a colonic once a week.
Stop making cancer. When you eat, do you want to feed the cancer, or the immune system? Foods can enhance the immune system. Processed non-foods and animal products do the opposite.
Do wheatgrass implants (enemas), following a salt water enema.
Eat as many organic raw plant foods as possible.

How do we prevent cancer?

Remove all the toxins! When a cell is surrounded by toxins, it cannot engage fully in its job. It's too busy defending and repairing. "If you don't clean the aquarium, the fish will get sick."

Nature produces tomatoes, not tomato sauce. Nature produces apples, not applesauce. Nature produces substances in combination with other substances. Lycopene in tomatoes, in isolation, will do nothing. A tomato has just enough lycopene, vitamin A, and other nutrients, packaged perfectly to be digested and assimilated, so we'll have the appropriate raw materials and cofactors.

When we heat food, we destroy the relationship between all components, and we destroy the enzymes forever. The food will no longer digest when it gets to the pancreas, so the pancreas has to do 5-6 times as much work. This is the same with the thyroid or the heart - they all get larger because they may be doing 10 times the work!

Energy: younger people (generally) have more energy than older people. When we run out of energy, the game is over. Where do we get energy? From the sun. It's collected by plants, turned into ATP and glucose. Cooking food removes the life (energy) from our food, literally.

Eating raw plant foods gives the body the appropriate raw materials and energy to do its work. Our DNA is capable of creating healthy cells, but without the raw materials, it cannot do that.

Even if a cancerous tumor is cut out of the body, the body is still creating cancer cells, IF the diet does not change!

If cancer was a local condition, it could easily be removed. But that's not the case. Within 18 months, it will be in the liver, the brain, or somewhere else. Surgeons can only remove what's detectable, not what's in the blood.

Smoking is the same as eating in this regard. Eating an unhealthy diet is FAR more dangerous than smoking.

Getting rid of cancer is about keeping it gone. It is about what we eat. If you return to what you were eating pre-cancer, it WILL come back. It's not the lump that will kill you, it's the spreading and the organ failure.

What does Dr. Lodi do to remove cancer?

  • Green juice feasts, for different amounts of time, depending on the toxicity level. Ideally: 21-30 days with cleansing.
  • Raw plant foods
  • Vitamin C (orally and IV)
  • Colonics
  • Medicinal mushrooms
  • Ozone blood treatment
  • Sometimes, a water fast. It takes three days to get the body into ketosis, so a supervised water fast should be at least ten days, to break down the pathological tissue. Cancer can be reversed in a seven day water fast.

Eliminating cancer is worth spending the time to get rid of it! It is more important than any job, so it is worth leaving or losing the job to heal yourself.

We all have cancer cells, and there are tests that tell you how many years out you can expect it. The question is not "Are we going to get it?" The question is "Are we going to survive it?"

The answer is YES!

Don't scrub your food clean! A little bit of earth is good for us! This is where we get B12. Even vegans don't need to take B12 as long as we get a little bit of dirt in our diets! In India, for example, they've never even heard of B12.

Go to bed early, wake up early.

Enzymes!

Very few people know how important enzymes are to their health! The truth is that none of us would live long without them.

Another factoid that people are not aware of is that we have a limited number of these enzymes in our bodies, and once they are used up, we are in trouble!

I'm including an article by Brenda Cobb that describes many of the functions of enzymes in our bodies. When we eat the proper plant based diet, we get enough enzymes from our food. When we eat animal products or cooked foods, that's when we MUST supplement with digestive enzymes.

Basically, by eating what we are not meant to eat (animal products, cooked foods), we are robbing our bodies of the critical enzymes that are meant for proper functioning.

That's why this topic is so vitally important!! A good resource is a book called "Enzyme Nutrition" by Edward Howell.

Enzymes and Living Food, by Brenda Cobb

Enzymes are the most important element to aid digestion and to maintain health. None of us could live long without enzymes. They perform in the body and the brain in a fantastic and powerful way.

Our bodies are home to billions of enzymes all working in intricate ways. One molecule of the enzyme found in blood will split five million molecules of hydrogen peroxide into molecules of water and oxygen in sixty seconds! Enzymes found in the intestines can break up a million times their weight of sugar and fat molecules.

The lack of enzymes is a major contributing factor in the development of leukemia and for health problems ranging from the common cold to more serious diseases such as AIDS.

The Rockefeller Institute has done much research on digestive problems like allergies and they found that certain enzymes are able to liquefy pus for drainage and soften sticky mucus which plugs the bronchial tubes creating asthma.

The enzyme elastin is responsible for the elasticity of the arteries, unlocking the mystery of hardening of the arteries and Parkinson's disease. There is evidence linking trouble with concentration to the enzymes dopeminea and ansoratonia which can cause crippling diseases affecting the nerves.

One of the most valuable needs for enzymes is to help process iron, which carries oxygen all over the body to be deposited in the billions of skin tissue and brain cells. Many people have brittle bones due to the lack of enzymes in cooked and denatured foods. Calcium cannot be properly utilized without enzymes. Protein is useless without enzymes to convert it into amino acids. The body cannot heal itself from infections or have healthy blood without enzymes.

Another reason I keep stressing the importance of enzymes is they are very necessary for the brain's functions. The brain is deprived of alertness when food is not nourishing. Poor food takes energy away from the brain even while we're sleeping. Many times people are troubled with sleep due to enzyme deficient denatured foods.

There is no way that we can guard against deficiencies without enzymes. When we realize how important it is to have a healthy body we will then understand the importance of staying away from food that is cooked or denatured in any way, and instead turn to Living Foods for nutrition.

Dr. Herbert Pollack, M.D. made great observations of how proper utilization of other nutrients cannot take place without vitamins being present in the tissues. We now know that without enzymes, vitamins and other elements cannot be utilized by the body.

Vitamins serve as co-enzymes, producing many reactions which promote digestion and other functions in the body. Vitamin A aids the respiratory system, the skin, and the glands. It is found in organic foods like greens and sweet potatoes. The B complex vitamins (B2, B6, and B12) have as many as eleven different functions including correcting eye and nervous disorders and swollen parts of the body. These vitamins, in conjunction with the enzymes, also give energy to the brain.

Vitamin B6, when working with B3 and enzymes, metabolizes protein and breaks the protein down into amino acids. These amino acids are very important substances needed to provide nutrition for the molecules. The best way to get B6 and B12 is from sprouts, grains and seeds. Nuts and corn also contain the B complex vitamins.

Many nutritionists base their criticism of vegetarianism on the so-called "low" dietary levels of the anti pernicious vitamin B12. They overlook the fact that this vitamin is heat sensitive and over 85% of its effectiveness can be lost under normal cooking conditions. Since no one eats raw meat, the nutritionists cannot make claim to animal protein as being a source of this vitamin.

Supplying the body with synthetic vitamins is not the way Nature planned for us to obtain vitamins. Vitamins cannot be separated from the life force of enzymes and perform properly inside the body. Without the spark of life supplied by enzymes, vitamins and other elements including minerals cannot be utilized by the body.

Got kids?

I'm reading a book called "Creating Healthy Children" by Karen Ranzi. I recommend this book to everyone who has kids, wants to have kids, or knows anyone with kids! I heard Karen speak in Atlanta, and she is extremely knowledgeable. I was very impressed!

I'm including the introduction of her book in thisblog. Raising healthy children begins *before* conception, and lasts until those "kids" are on their own. I didn't know much about it, not having kids myself, but I'm glad I got the book, because I am learning a lot!

Creating Healthy Children, by Karen Ranzi

I feel two compelling reasons to write this book on raising healthy children. My first is to expose the dramatic life-changing difference raw vegan foods can make during pregnancy, lactation and in raising the healthiest children possible. The second reason revolves around security and trust, and the strong inner knowing of one's true place in the world, developed only by the close skin-to-skin attaching relationship between mother and baby.

I believe all parents and parents-to-be should study the physiological and emotional needs of their children, and learn how to care for them in a way that meets those needs. Taking care of these needs will bring health and excellence in all areas. The problems children face in today's world are largely the result of misguided and uninformed parents. Trillions of dollars are pent annually on drugs, hospitals, nurses and physicians, showing the vast extent of disease and suffering. There are a growing number of physicians who realize the importance of a healthful diet and lifestyle, but continue to treat symptoms without looking for their cause. Most doctors have not been trained in nutrition and healthy, but solely to test, administer drugs and perform surgery.

It's tragic the civilized world has developed an eating style that causes children so much suffering -- both now and for the rest of their lives. We have followed a medical way of looking at pregnancy and childbirth which often leads to a couple being more concerned about the mother's recovery from surgical delivery, instead of naturally focusing on nursing the baby! The many "experts" who talk about avoidance of spoiling children by insisting they sleep alone have conditioned mothers and fathers to emotionally detach themselves from their children, going against their own parental instincts.

While writing this book, I was advised to keep it strictly to the topic of raw foods for children, but I don't see how I could possibly separate the emotional needs of babies and growing children from their biological and physiological needs. Only all of these integrated factors will lead to a fully healthy, evolved being. I felt it was most important to present all aspects of raising a fit and well-adjusted child.

It is my passion to disseminate valuable information about a healthful family lifestyle so children can have the benefits of living their lives without illness, and have the strongest possibility of realizing their true potential. We don't always have control over much that goes on in our physical world. Water and air pollution affect us every day, and the daily stresses of life are detriments to our health. The only things we have complete control over are what food we choose to put into our bodies, what we use on our skin, the amounts of sleep and exercise we get, and the love and emotional support we give ourselves and our children.

One third of the United States population is reported to be severely overweight due to the standard diet. It is unfair to children that parents are so uninformed about how to care for their young. Thousands upon thousands of children are allowed to become obese because their parents feed them fast foods. We need to bring people back to nature by guiding them to observe how other species thrive. I truly wish I had all the information I'm now presenting in this book, before having my children. The food we put into their bodies and the love and care we give to our children as they grow from infancy should nourish them for a beautiful disease-free secure lifetime.

I am not a doctor, but I have seen quite clearly through my studies and observations, health is created when we take control of it. My own children have been healthiest when eating predominantly raw foods, and my observations of raw pregnancies and raw vegan families have provided me with information pointing to the necessity of staying on this path.

Ann Wigmore's Healing Methods

If you attend any natural living, natural healing or raw food events, you will hear many excellent speakers talking about how to reverse disease naturally. Thousands and thousands of people have reversed all sorts of conditions, ailments, and degenerative diseases naturally. And is it NOT just about raw foods!

There was an amazing woman named Dr. Ann Wigmore who had the highest success rate in the world at helping people heal from all sorts of degenerative diseases naturally.

Dr. Ann had such a high success rate helping people heal, that she received numerous visits from pharmaceutical companies and medical professionals, to find out what she was doing. Her message was starting to get out to everyone! Ironically, Dr. Ann died "mysteriously" in a fire. Not only did the fire kill her, but it also burned up her office, containing much of her information. Fortunately before she died, she had handed over many important books to people, such as her assistant Eirikur.

Dr. Ann Wigmore's healing protocol could be considered the most extreme out there, but it worked! She would put everyone on a raw food diet, give them liquid and blended nutrition such as wheatgrass juice, vegetable juices and blended living foods. Finally, she made sure that all of her clients cleansed their colons every single day!

Unfortunately, this vital protocol of her method seems to have been overlooked by most people. That protocol is cleansing the colon, every single day. To effectively reverse disease, cleansing the colon is ideally carried out diligently and consistently, with a raw food or simple plant based whole foods diet (void of processed foods), along with some sort of liquid or blended nutrition.

Dr. Ann was helping people reverse cancer regularly. She had an entire building created just for AIDS patients, and was getting excellent results.

So, what's more important, raw foods or a clean colon? Well, it depends what your condition is. But you can eat the most perfect diet in the world, and if you don't get the toxins OUT, it will take longer to heal. You also have to resolve any emotional issues that may exist, as emotions are the number one cause of disease!

Having said that, based on Dr. Ann's work, cleansing the colon consistently is a critical component in reversing disease.

What does that mean? I am NOT talking about any supplements that you take orally. Those supplements make me laugh! If anyone recommends these, they don't know what they're talking about. What I'm talking about is cleansing the colon with filtered water, either through a professional colon hydrotherapist or enemas at home.

Cleansing the colon with filtered water is the most powerful detox method in the world. Nothing even comes close!

Yeah, I know, some doctors say colon hydrotherapy is "dangerous". But think about it: If you were to heal naturally, it would take away profit from the largest industry in the world. Or ... you have some sort of "special" condition so your doctor says you can't do colon cleansing. I've heard lots of excuses! But what it comes down to is: Do you want to heal or not?

It is true that colon cleansing alone, without a relatively clean diet, won't get you very far. But you don't need to be on an "extreme" 100% raw food diet to heal. Adding colon cleansing to a raw food diet would be the fastest way to heal, but as long as you are at least eating plant based whole foods, leaving out processed foods, while doing colon cleansing every day, this gives you the best shot to reverse any condition, ailment or degenerative disease naturally!

If you're not sure what a whole foods diet is, read "The China Study". In a nutshell, a whole food looks like it did when it was picked. If it's been processed into another form, like pasta or bread, it's not "whole" anymore. If you want to eat animal products, make sure they're either local or organic or both, and take digestive enzymes when you eat them (this is critical). Goat's milk products are much easier to digest than cow's milk products, but you still need to take digestive enzymes with them.

People sometimes manage to fool themselves about what they eat: they will insist, for example, that they only eat whole foods, yet in private, convince themselves that it is OK to eat processed foods occasionally. And then they wonder why this "doesn't work" for them!

Again, you don't have to be extreme, like a totally raw foodist. But if you colon cleanse every day, consume liquid vegetable nutrition and eat more raw foods or totally whole foods, you will heal.

You may see healing results without cleansing your colon every single day, with Dr. Ann's protocol. But if you are in a healing crisis (use any medications at all, have any conditions you want to eliminate, including obesity), then colon cleansing every day gives you the best shot to healing.

This process is SO simple, and yet some of you will probably still come up with every excuse possible to discredit this idea and try to convince yourself that you are not "able" to do this. You are able! I am sick and tired of hearing other "professionals", some with "MD" or other letters after their names, saying they are "helping" people when they have NO CLUE how to help people heal.

Alkaline Water

What is green juice & why should I be making it?

I recommend green juicing to all my clients, friends, family, everyone! I get a lot of blank stares when I say "green juice", so this email explains what that means and why I recommend it. As a reminder, I recommend a minimum of 16 ounces of green juice every day, right after a shot of wheatgrass (or filtered water with lemon) first thing in the morning.

Green juice is made when primarily vegetables and sometimes a small amount of fruit are processed through an appliance called a juicer. A juicer extracts the liquid nutrition from the produce, leaving the pulp behind.

Some of the best green veggies to use are cucumbers, celery, kale, chard, romaine lettuce, broccoli, parsley, sprouts and spinach. Other veggies that add zing are: red, yellow or orange bell peppers, garlic, ginger, red cabbage and carrots. When thinking about adding fruit, lemons and limes can be used freely. However, limit other fruits to one piece or so, to keep the sugar intake low and the green, alkaline goodness at the center of attention! Some good fruit choices are one serving of apples, pears or melons.

WHY SHOULD I GREEN JUICE?

This is a great question! When I demo juicing, it is easy to see that the amount of produce I put through the juicer is much more than I could eat in a meal, or even a day, and is not a combination I would normally find appealing, if eaten whole. It's probably too much. But if those same veggies are juiced together, they create a wonderful combination of flavors that fills my body and soul with pure liquid gold! I am in essence getting the pure life force from the plants! So, here is a list of benefits:
Consumption of large quantities of vegetables that otherwise would be difficult to eat
Fast nutrient consumption since it is in liquid form
Easy digestion, as there is no bulk
Curbs the appetite, as you are getting real nutrition that your body craves
Alkalizing effect on the body (an acidic environment promotes disease)
Great for immune system support
Tastes great!

JUICER INFO, PLEASE

Juicers come in all shapes, sizes and costs. You can get a book by Tina Pruitt called "Juice Yourself Healthy" (www.tinapruitt.com) that breaks down the types of juicers a bit more. Juicers like the Breville, Omega, Champion or Green Star are perfect for green juices.

Keep in mind that if you want to also juice wheatgrass, which I *strongly* recommend, make sure your juicer can do that. The Omega is the juicer I use, and the one I recommend. Shop online for good deals - the best price I've found is from Wheatgrass Kits (see my shopping page for a link)..

Briefly, a blender purees vegetables and fruits into a drink that retains all the fiber of the produce. High speed blenders like Vitamix are perfect for smoothies.

"THE FEAST" MIXED GREEN JUICE RECIPE
1 small head romaine lettuce (in multi-pack)
3 cucumbers
1 red pepper (de-stem and de-seed)
8 kale leaves
6-8 celery stalks
1 fuji apple
1/2 lemon (with just the yellow trimmed off, and pith intact)
2 garlic cloves (skin removed)
1/2 - 1" ginger
1/8 tsp cayenne

Preparation:
Wash all produce.
Wrap garlic & ginger in lettuce or kale.
Put all ingredients through your favorite juicer and...

the "dirty dozen"

Let's talk about the dirty dozen! No, not the movie. What I'm referring to is the top dozen foods with the highest pesticide residue.

I recommend eating *all* your foods organic, whether it's a plant or animal flesh. The reason is very simple.

One of the primary reasons we develop disease is due to toxicity in our cells. We are bombarded with toxins all day, including polluted air, treated water, toxic hair, skin, kitchen and laundry products. Even clothes have toxins in them! So it's CRITICAL that we focus on detoxing our cells every single day.

Consuming nontoxic, alkaline foods and filtered water will go a long way to making sure that we have good health.

If you are a parent, pregnant, nursing, or have ANY health issues, you should eat only organic products. Pregnant women and nursing moms especially, because growing babies are exposed to most of the chemicals that mom consumes!

The Department of Agriculture comes out with an annual list of the dirty dozen foods. They analyze data about pesticide residue and rank foods based on how much or little pesticide residue they have. They estimate that we can reduce our exposure by 80% if we switch to organic when buying these twelve foods.

Do the benefits of eating fresh fruits and vegetables outweigh the known risks of consuming pesticide residue? It depends on your situation, but in general, yes. So, if you can't find your favorite fruit or vegetable organic, go ahead and eat it, washing it thoroughly, and peel it. There are some types of produce, however, that I recommend never, ever eating when it's not organic, including all types of berries, tree fruits and leafy greens. You can't peel a berry!

Ok, here's the list for this year:

  • Apples. More than 40 different pesticides have been detected on apples. This includes apple juice and apple sauce. Safer alternatives, if you can't find these organic, are watermelon, bananas and tangerines.
  • Celery. USDA tests have found more than 60 different pesticides on celery. Safer alternatives with a similar crunch include broccoli, radishes and onions.
  • Strawberries. Nearly 60 different pesticides have been found on strawberries. Safer alternatives include kiwi and pineapples.
  • Peaches. More than 60 pesticides have been found on peaches. Safer alternatives include watermelon, tangerines, oranges and grapefruit.
  • Spinach. Nearly 50 different pesticides.
  • Nectarines. 33 pesticides have been detected on nectarines. Instead, try pineapple, papaya or mango.
  • Grapes. Can have more than 30 pesticides. Rains also have high pesticide residue tests. Makes you wonder about wine!
  • Sweet bell peppers. Nearly 50 different pesticides have been detected.
  • Potatoes. More than 35 pesticides have been detected. Sweet potatoes are a better alternative with less chance of pesticides.
  • Blueberries. More than 50 pesticides have been detected. Other berry alternatives are also often contaminated.
  • Lettuce. More than 50 pesticides have been identified.
  • Kale and collard greens.. Safer alternatives include cabbage, asparagus and broccoli.
  • Also on the list is any fatty meat. Pesticides are found in the fat in animal flesh, and they are long-lived chemicals that accumulate in human fats. If you do choose to eat animal flesh, make sure it is organic or lean.

Milk (any dairy products really) must be included on this list! Twelve different pesticides have been identified in milk. Combine that statistic with the work that researchers like Dr. Campbell did in The China Study, and dairy products should be avoided always.

Coffee should also be included on the list. Many of the coffee beans we buy are grown in countries with lax regulations for use of pesticides. Look for the USDA organic label to ensure you're not buying beans that have been grown or processed with the use of harmful chemicals. Or go a step further and look for the Fair Trade Certified and Rainforest Alliance labels to ensure that your purchase supports farmers who are paid fairly and treated well. Also look for shade-grown varieties. That way, you know the coffee is being grown under the canopy of the rainforest, leaving those ancient trees intact, along with the wildlife that call them home.

Similar to coffee, there's no watchdog reporting on pesticides found in WINE, but grapes are among the crops that are typically heavily dosed with pesticides. Look for the label "organic wine", not "made with organic grapes" - those have sulfites added as a preservative.

Also like coffee, cocoa beans are grown across the developing world. Buying organic CHOCOLATE ensures your treat isn't harming the environment or workers elsewhere.

the most important factor in healing

You've read my newsletters and my web page. You know how important your diet is to your health, and how important it is to detox, detox, detox. This is critically important, and I practice detox every single day. A healthy body needs to be alkaline, and that involves diet and environment.

But diet is NOT the most important factor in healing and staying healthy. Don't get me wrong, it's important! But it takes a distance second place to what we think.

Let me explain.

Yes, you can heal your life! All by yourself, effortlessly.

You see, our dis-eases are the result of how we think. Every single thing that happens in our lives is manifested by us. So, why would you manifest illness, overweight, even cancer? The "why" doesn't even matter, but when you read Louise's book, you'll understand.

The good news is that we can choose, RIGHT NOW, to be healthy, to be slim, to be in love with our lives. We have that power!

What most of us do, early in life, is give away our power. We blame others for what happens in our lives. We blame external events, we blame our genetics. We give away our power to doctors, who don't have a CLUE how to heal us! In reality, whenever a person says "I have _____" (allergies, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, you name it), we are creating that reality. The more often you say it, the longer you'll have it!

How do we begin to correct this situation? It couldn't be easier. Start with this affirmation, as often as you think of it, out loud or to yourself:

"I love and approve of myself. I am in perfect health."

And if you feel you need to heal from an illness, include: "I am healed. I am healed. I am healed."

The instant that you start generating that kind of positive energy, your universe will shift. Once you start truly loving yourself, you will become the slender, healthy person that you want to be.

Because when we love ourselves, many things happen. We no longer put toxic foods in our mouths. We see ourselves as the perfect being that nature created. We get enough sleep, and we attract people into our lives who also generate positive energy, and "fire" those who generate negative energy.

A perfect example is weight loss. People who are overweight and obese do NOT love themselves (most of us don't). There could be generations of emotional and energetic issues that need to be resolved before weight loss can occur.

There you go. You can start healing right this minute. If you believe it strongly enough, you can even heal from any illness, instantly.

Amino acids and protein

I want to address the issue of "protein" in our diets in a slightly different way.

We have been brainwashed since birth (at least in the US) that we must consume animal flesh, milk and eggs to get enough "protein" in our diets. In fact, we would have to consume quite a bit of these things to get enough amino acids to build protein, and it's totally unnecessary and harmful!

The rampant concern about "protein" deficiency reveals a widespread misconception about it! Some of the largest and strongest animals in the world, including silverback gorillas, horses and elephants thrive on a plant based diet, and very few people wonder where they get their protein.

Humans build protein from amino acids. There are only eight amino acids that we have to consume, and ALL eight of them are in plants. For example, you can get all eight amino acids needed from a potato, carrot or banana.

We need roughly 6% "protein" (amino acids) in our diet. Some people require a bit more than others, due to age and activity level. But ALL THE PROTEIN YOU NEED IS AVAILABLE FROM PLANTS, in a form that our bodies can absorb.

For example, as a percentage of total calories, here's how much protein each kind of plant supplies (when raw or sprouted):

Fruits: 6%
Nuts and seeds: 11%
Grains: 12%
Vegetables: 18%
Legumes: 30%

Eating a variety of plant foods and consuming enough calories to support your level of activity will enable you to make plenty of protein with the amino acids!

A different way that protein requirements are often presented is in terms of body weight. The recommendation is to get 0.8 grams of protein for every kilogram of body weight per day (this is high, by the way). A kilogram is 2.2 pounds, so a 160 pound adult would need 58 grams of protein (like I said, very high - most people only need about 30 grams). A 2,000 calorie per day diet composed of 12% calories from protein supplies 60 grams of protein, and this requirement is easily met on a raw food diet. Luckily, measuring amounts of protein and studying tables is unnecessary when you eat a full spectrum of raw foods!

Much of the misinformation and confusion about human protein requirements is based on animal studies using rats in the early 1900s. Later, in the 1950s, research on the protein requirements of humans revealed that rats and humans have different protein requirements and that plans provide all the essential amino acids in the amount that humans need!

Still, the powerful and highly profitable meat and dairy industries (bigger than Big Pharma or Big Oil) are happy to reinforce misconceptions about the requirements for meat and dairy in the human diet, and these industries are aided through generous subsidies and other support by the USDA! The federally funded National School Lunch program, for example, spends more on dairy products than any other food item, and the USDA still includes milk as a "required" beverage in this program, despite research showing that milk not only lacks nutritional benefits, but actually has an adverse effect on health. On the one hand, it's supposed to encourage us to eat healthfully, but it's also designed to support agricultural profits. Unfortunately, profit usually prevails, compromising health awareness.

So, relax and eat your plants. Doing so will guarantee that you are getting enough amino acids to build protein.

It's not good genes or genetics!!!

Here's a link to an amazing article by Lisa Wilson of the Raw Food Institute. Lisa uses both food and exercise to look like a supermodel, but I will tell you from personal experience that you will get to your ideal weight by eating raw and living foods! I don't go to the gym like Lisa does, I do light exercise at home, and I'm back down to the size I was when I was in my 20s.

I totally agree with Lisa's article, and so do Dr. Esselstyn, Dr. Campbell, and many, many more: we have 100% control over our bodies and our health. Don't blame it on genetics.
